Charity of the Year

Ickle Pickles is delighted to announce its first Hampshire Incubator Ball sponsor and to share how Comserv - Property Services makes a real difference to premature and sick babies.

We are delighted to announce Comserv Property Services as our first sponsor for Ickle Pickles’ Hampshire Incubator Ball. Comserv Property Services will sponsor the Incubator Draw raising funds for the Southampton and Oxfordshire Neonatal Transport Service who transport sick babies across Hampshire.

Comserv has been supporting Ickle Pickles throughout the year after a Comserv Operative nominated Ickle Pickles as Charity of the Year. A close friend of his had just given birth to twins very prematurely and they were cared for at the neonatal unit at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. Comserv staff then elected Ickle Pickles as one of their charities and it turned out that there were other staff members who had been supported by the Ickle Pickles.

Proving that fundraising is fun, Comserv held a number of amazing fundraising events in support of Ickle Pickles. These have included a scary Halloween-themed bake sale, a ‘Guess the Baby’ competition, a Christmas hamper raffle, a  van wash, an Easter-themed bake sale, and a fishing challenge. All their efforts truly demonstrated their commitment to making a difference and we could see why Comserv prides itself on excellent customer service, high-quality delivery and an “unrivalled focus on customer care through Systems Thinking methodology providing ‘The Right Repair at The Right Time’”.

Delivered through a local, experienced and skilled team of over 150 Operatives, Comserv carries out responsive repairs, planned works and property improvements to over 8,000 Portsmouth City Council properties. Their experienced Call Centre manages over 1500 calls per day. Using a diverse team of skilled Operatives, they currently undertake around 400 visits to customer homes each day carrying out repairs, void works, disabled facilities, and planned maintenance works.

All of Comserv’s staff united behind Ickle Pickles’ cause of giving every newborn a chance. They even purchased an Ickle Pickles Tiny Tatty Teddy for each staff member going on maternity or paternity leave.

Comserv Operative Connor Robson is now taking part in the Brighton & Hove Triathlon on the 10th of September and has chosen to fundraise for Ickle Pickles. He has been training hard for the Olympic distance event which is a 1500m swim, followed by a 40km cycle, and finally a 10km run.

We hope Connor's amazing challenge sparks your motivation to take on a cycle or run of your life and make a difference to babies born too soon and too sick.
