Ipads during Covid-19

Ipads during Covid-19

Various Hospitals

In response to many units restricting the parental visits during Covid-19 we have purchased a number of Ipads for staff to video message (through various means) baby footage to the parents at home.

Having a baby in a neonatal unit is stressful at the best of times but with the added restrictions imposed since March, many parents are being limited to how long they can see their baby for and skin to skin is often not allowed.

The long term impacts of these measures on bonding etc are unknown, but if the images sent via the ipads help in anyway then it is a worthwhile investment. So far the units in Southampton, Winchester, Basingstoke, Portsmouth, Lewisham and Woolwich have received ipads from us.
