The Ickle Pickles Children’s Charity is delighted to receive a grant award of £1,500 that will fund a refurbishment of staff and parent’s room at the neonatal unit at Epsom General Hospital

Ickle Pickles’ relationship with Epsom Hospital started in 2022 in unison with St Helier Hospital. Since then, as a direct result of fundraising events and charity challenges, Ickle Pickles donated three Reclining Chairs among other equipment. The neonatal team at Epsom has now requested a sofa, dining table and chairs for the parents and staff rooms.

Ickle Pickles’ Charity Fundraising and Trusts Manager Michelle Benjama said: “For small charities like us, grants like this allow us to help more premature and sick babies and make a bigger difference at neonatal units across the country.”

Voting was held at Tesco stores between 1st July 2024 to 30th September 2024 and proved to be very successful with millions of votes being cast by Tesco Customers.

Tesco’s Stronger Starts – previously Tesco Bags of Help and Tesco Community Grants - has already provided over £115 million to more than 65,000 projects across Britain.

Graham Duxbury, Groundwork’s UK Chief Executive, said: “As a community charity, we have seen first-hand how schools and other groups supporting young people have been playing a much bigger role in ensuring children are getting a healthy start to the day and getting access to spaces and services to support physical activity and mental health.”

Funding is available to community groups and charities looking to fund local projects that bring benefits to communities. To find out more visit tescoplc.com/strongerstarts.
