Baby Pod

The Embrace Transport Service team have requested funds from us to purchase a second Baby Pod. We purchased one in December 2022 but as they have numerous ambulances more are needed. These Pods are used during transport to safely move babies from one hospital to another. They can be secured to any trolley or transport stretcher and so therefore can be used in any road, fixed wing or rotary aircraft. They plan to use the Baby Pod in all three modes of transport.

It is lightweight compared to an incubator, however can only be used for babies between 2-8Kg who can maintain their own temperature as it does not have a heating element.

It is estimated that 1,000 babies per year will be transported using the Baby Pod.
