5 Sound Ears and 2 floor sitters | IPK 684 - 688 and IPK 693 and IPK 702
The team at Croydon University Hospital are incredibly proactive and keen to get involved to help fundraise for their unit.
During 2022 their fundraising efforts helped to purchase 5 Sound Ears. Hospital noise is an issue for babies born prematurely who are at high risk when it comes to external influences such as noise. Their systems are underdeveloped and they need as much sleep and rest as possible to recuperate. These Sound Ears are programmed to light up red, yellow or green to indicate the current noise levels in that room – this helps staff and parents to regulate their voices and noise levels to keep the environment as quiet and calm as possible for the babies.
For the longer-staying babies we also donated 2 Floor Sitters - one small and one larger one - to help with their development and posture.
