Ickle Pickles welcomes its newest Pledge Partners
Ickle Pickles Pledge
Congratulations to Barnet Hospital’s neonatal unit Starlight, the Royal London Hospital, the Isle of Wight’s Special Care Baby Unit and Leicester Hospitals for becoming Ickle Pickles’ latest Pledge Partners.
The Ickle Pickles Pledge is a joint commitment to proactively fundraise for the intensive and special care equipment that this unit most urgently needs. We help neonatal units access the necessary equipment and improve the health and well-being of babies and parents by working in partnership with your neonatal unit.
The Starlight neonatal unit at Barnet Hospital has 30 cots for babies born from 27 weeks onwards. They provide different levels of care depending on a baby’s development and condition, including neonatal intensive care for newborn babies.
The Starlight unit was the first UK neonatal unit to provide individualised care rooms for family-centred developmental care. Parents can stay there throughout their neonatal journey which allows them to learn valuable skills and knowledge to confidently care for their baby.
Ickle Pickles has worked briefly with The Royal London unit in the past purchasing lovely developmental care items such as comforters and baby nests to help mums and babies bond through scent and feel secure in the nests when alone in their incubator.
The Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at the Isle of Wight Hospital has 4 special care and 2 stabilisation cots. They care for babies requiring care due to prematurity or health issues after delivery on the island. SCBU babies born from April 2023 onwards and their families are invited to their Superhero picnic on the 7th of September to raise funds for new recliner chairs and developmental aids for SCBU babies.
Ickle Pickles is delighted to officially partner with these neonatal teams and actively fundraise together as part of the Ickle Pickles Pledge.
Join Ickle Pickles to welcome these four amazing neonatal units to the Ickle Pickles Pledge and start fundraising for Barnet Hospital, the Royal London Hospital, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Leicester Hospitals’ neonatal units.
